JULY CME PROGRAMS

July 23, 2013 Topic: "Incorporating Natural Medicine into Modern Clinical Medical Practice"

Desired Outcomes:

1.

Make a balanced judgment in assessing natural medicine from around the world by comparing any system against a possible benchmark criteria Alternative Medical system and against their existing medical expertise and clinical experience

2.

Relate to patients with confidence, compassion, and an openness to incorporating ancient paradigms into modern medical treatments

3.

Expand their awareness and knowledge of the ancient but recently rediscovered medical practice

4.

Use presented techniques and information for personal use to increase physician wellbeing, thereby reducing stress in the Doctor-Patient relationship, and ensuring the physician remains the trusted advisor on all forms of medical treatment

This activity is geared toward all physician specialties.

The format will be Lecture, Case Presentation and Interactive Q&A Session.

This activity will encompass the following desirable physician attributes: Patient Care and Procedural Skills, Medical Knowledge, Professionalism, and Practice-Based Learning & Improvement.

St. Jude Medical Center is accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association (IMQ/CMA) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

St. Jude Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This credit may also be applied to the CMA Certification in Continuing Medical Education.

Breast Cancer Conferences will be held on Mondays at 12:30 pm, lunch will be served:

Lung Cancer Conferences will be held on Tuesdays at 7:30 am, continental breakfast will be served:

GYN/General Cancer Conferences will be held on the 2nd Thursday at 7:30 am, continental breakfast will be served:

General Cancer Conferences will be held on the 4th Thursday at 12:30 pm, lunch will be served:

Methods of Instruction

The presentational method for each of the Regularly Scheduled Series above will be Case Presentation and Small Group Discussion.

Target Audience

The activity content for each of the Regularly Scheduled Series above is geared toward Medical Oncologists, Radiologists, Pathologists, Pulmonologists, Gastroenterologists, and Urologists. All other specialties and allied health care professionals are invited and welcome to attend.

Cultural & Linguistic Competency

Faculty for each activity listed on both pages have been given information relative to AB1195, which mandates that each CME activity must contain appropriate information on Cultural & Linguistic Competency. You will be asked on the activity Evaluation Form to state whether this law was complied with or not.
