Topic: 43 Year Old Female with Pancytopenia

Presented by: David Park, M.D. & Steven Kim, M.D. Hematology/Oncologists at St. Jude Medical Center

Time: 7:00 am - 8:00 am - Full Breakfast to be Served

Desired Outcomes:

  • Arrive at a working differential diagnosis for patientrs with pancytopenia
  • Cite causes of B12 deficiencies
  • Replete B12 levels and order supplementation appropriately
  • Monitor b12 levels and order supplementation appropriately
  • Assess the patient's health literacy level properly and communicate follow-up instructions clearly and thouroughly

Target Audience: The presentational methods for this activity will be case presentation with learner participation, lecture, and Q&A session. The activity content is geared toward Primary Care physicians, Internists, Hospitalists and Gastroenterologists, but all physician specialties and healthcare providers are welcome. This activity will encompass the following desirable physician attributes: Patient Care & Procedural Skills, Medical Knowledge, Professionalism, Interpersonal & Communication Skills, and Practice-Based Learning & Improvement.

Accreditation: St. Jude Medical Center is accredited by the Institute for Medical Qualtiy to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
