Café 1650 Updates on Apple Pay, Gift Cards and Physician Meal Plan

We are pleased to announce that Café 1650 now accepts Apple Pay, the digital wallet service that allows for payments with a mobile phone.

Also, gift cards in $25, $50 and $100 amounts are available for purchase at cafeteria cash registers.

As of July 6, 2020, all St. Jude Medical Center medical/allied health staff members in good standing can partake in a cafeteria meal plan that has a definite value amount subsidized per meal for the designated three meals per day, namely Breakfast Lunch and Dinner.

No new action is needed by the medical/allied health staff members.

B. The designated value provided for the Breakfast meal is $8. The time of implementation will be from cafeteria opening, 6:30 a.m., until the 10:30 a.m. cut-off time.

L. The designated value provided for the Lunch meal is $10. The time of implementation, upon completion of breakfast, so 10:30 a.m. until the 4:30 p.m. cut-off time.

D. The designated value provided for the Dinner meal is $10. The time of implementation, upon completion of lunch, so 4:30 p.m. until, including the night session, closing time, midnight.

Any medical/allied health staff member will be allotted one courtesy sponsored meal visit per session; but equally importantly, any charges in excess of the allowed value will be required to be covered by the member as an added amount.

For example: During the Breakfast session, if the cost of green eggs and ham and orange juice is $8.25, then there will need to be the added transaction of paying $0.25 at the time of check out.

Similarly, during the Lunch session, hypothetically, if the cost of soup, salad, hamburger and fries and a Coke add up to $10.12 then there will need to be the added transaction of paying the extra $0.12 or whatever amount is not covered by the $10 allowance.

(Strongly recommend credit card use or available for purchase gift card; Please avoid restocking items especially in Covid-19 epoch.)
