CMA Virtual Grand Rounds on Curbing COVID-19

CMA's next virtual grand rounds webinar is: Transmission, Testing and Masks: Creating a Culture to Curb COVID-19.

The third webinar is our series is Tuesday, Sept. 8, at noon, and will be moderated by Kimberly Newell Green, MD, Immediate Past President, San Francisco Marin Medical Society and Associate Clinical Professor, University of California, San Francisco.

As a reminder, Virtual Grand Rounds: COVID-19 Clinical Updates is a free and monthly series providing the latest patient management news and resources.

The effort is a partnership between CMA and the California Health and Human Services Agency (CHHS), with the California Academy of Physician Assistants (CAPA) and the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California (OPSC).

Physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants are encouraged to register, and participants can expert to learn how to better:

  • Discuss and disseminate information on the importance of masking to patients and communities.
  • Utilize behavior change strategies to encourage patients' adoption of best practices for face coverings.
  • Choose the appropriate tests for patients and interpret test results based on the current state of COVID-19.
  • Make test recommendations based on test shortage issues and state testing priorities.
  • Recommend protective equipment to use in clinical settings and community settings.
