St. Jude Medical Center welcomes Eugene Gutierrez IV, CPA, to our leadership team in the role of Chief Financial Officer for the Medical Center.

Gene has more than 20 years professional financial, administrative and capital management experience, including serving most of the last decade as Vice President of Finance for Huntington Memorial Hospital, a 619-bed acute-care hospital in Pasadena. During his tenure, Gene was part of an executive team that elevated Huntington Memorial to multiple national rankings, including its current U.S. News & World Report top 50 rankings in orthopedics, neurology, urology and GI.

His strong background in strategic planning, revenue cycle improvement, operational budgeting and forecasting, and maximizing financial performance will be an asset as we continue navigating the opportunities and new industry demands of offering exceptional quality and value.

Gene and his wife, Tamara, live in Monrovia with their two younger daughters, ages 11 and 18, where activities from school sports to Girl Scouts fill the weekends. Their third daughter, 20, is a sophomore at the University of San Diego majoring in biochemistry. Gene is excited to be joining a faith-based organization; in fact, it is the opportunity to significantly contribute to the success of St. Jude's unique ministry that prompted his acceptance of the position.
