The April 2013 General Staff Meeting was held at the Summit House Restaurant on April 23rd at 6pm. It was a very large turnout, perhaps due to the fact that the new point system requires medical staff members to attend a meeting in order to achieve points to maintain active staff privileges.

Highlights of the meeting include:

• Introduction of Chief of Staff Dr. James Benoit
• Honoring Dr. John Davis for service as IRB chair, and Dr. Don Bittner for OCMA Physician of the Year
• Discussion of Perfectserve usage by Teresa Frey, VP of Quality
• Hospital update by Lee Penrose, CEO
• Unveiling of the new Medical Staff Website, sjmedstaff.org
• Keynote speech by C.R. Burke, regarding the Foundation model and healthcare reform.

The next General Staff Meeting will be November 5, 2013.
