We are very pleased to announce the promotion of Julie Kim, MSN, RN, CMSRN, to the position of Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) St. Jude Medical Center. Julie's demonstrated skills in leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration—as well as her ability to build and nurture the success of those around her —will prove invaluable in sustaining St. Jude's culture of nursing excellence and achievement.
For many organizations, recruiting quality individuals to fill leadership roles is difficult —yet at St. Jude, the talent and commitment at every level allows us to consistently find the best possible choice within our walls. Julie is a clear example.
She first joined St. Jude as a nursing graduate in 2003 and became a medical-surgical nurse known for her bedside skill, attention to detail and compassionate interactions. Later she became a clinical coordinator and nurse manager who fostered a unit culture of clinical improvement, innovation and professional growth.
In 2014, Julie was promoted to Director, Nursing Services, and again in 2017, to Executive Director, Nursing Services, a role in which her servant leadership and steady management style allowed her to support and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and exceptional caregiver engagement. Julie personifies the strong faith and values that distinguish our ministry and we look forward to her taking on a larger role in St. Jude's continued success.
Because of the strength and experience of nursing leadership, we don't believe it is necessary to hire an additional nurse leader at this time. Julie's responsibilities will be assumed by her current directors.
Please join us in welcoming Julie to her new position.
